Where can I park?
There is a parking garage located beneath the Marketplace at Steamtown in which we are located. The entrance to the garage is on South Washington Ave or Lackawanna Ave near the bus station. Parking in the garage is paid, however if you bring the parking ticket with you to our front admission gate, we can validate your parking. There is also paid street parking available downtown for larger vehicles.
Is the facility wheelchair accessible?
  • Yes! We are wheelchair accessible. We also have a wheelchair available to use during your visit. Please inquire at the Front Gate. Availability is first come first serve.
Do you allow strollers/wagons?
We do allow strollers and wagons. Single strollers are preferred as double-wide strollers may have more difficulty navigating some of our pathways.
Are food and drinks allowed?

Food and drinks are allowed inside the aquarium, however we ask that cups and containers have lids, and that you do not eat or drink over our touch tanks. Eating and drinking is not allowed during our Educational Shows. We ask that you dispose of any trash in proper waste containers located throughout the facility.

Are you located indoors?
Yes, all areas of our facility are indoors. You can visit us rain or shine!
Do you allow pets?

Pets and emotional support animals are not allowed inside the facility. Trained service dogs are permitted inside Electric City Aquarium.  

Are Service Animals allowed inside the facility?

Trained service dogs are permitted inside Electric City Aquarium under the ADA guidelines. Pets and emotional support animals are not allowed inside the facility. Please note that all service animals must be under the control of the handler at all times. 

What is included with my ticket?
An admission ticket is good for the whole day and includes access to any of our education shows, touch tanks, and weekend feedings. The full list of our programs can be found here.
How long does it take to go through the aquarium and reptile den?
A typical visit can last anywhere from an hour to all day! Timing really depends on how many of our programs you partake in, though most visits are around 1-2 hours. Admission is good for the whole day, so you are free to come and go as you please. Simply show us your hand stamp for re-entry up until 5:15pm the same day.
How big is your facility and what can we see there?

Our facility is over 25,000 square feet and is home to more than 250 species. Some of the species you can expect to find include a variety of frogs, lizards, snakes and crocodilians in our reptile den, birds and mammals such as a sloth, Kinkajou, toucan and primates in our rainforest area and many species of both freshwater and saltwater fish and invertebrates along with stingrays, sharks and Octopus inside the aquarium.

Do you offer a AAA or Museums for All Discount?
Not at this time. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram to hear first about upcoming promotions or discounts.
Do you offer a SNAP or EBT Discount?

At this time we do not have a daily SNAP/EBT discount. We do offer daily discounts for Seniors, Military/First Responders and College Students. We also offer group rate discounts for parties of 15 or more.

Who qualifies for discounted admission?

We have discounts for College students with valid ID, Seniors over 65 and first responders (Police, Firefighters, EMTs, Active military and Veterans) with valid ID.

While there are no daily discounts for teachers and nurses, we do hold appreciation days throughout the year.
